Perioral Dermatitis
Prerioral dermatitis is just what its name suggests. The meaning of perioral is around the mouth area and dermatitis means inflammation of skin.
Perioral dermatitis occurs around the lips, chin and lower cheeks. In general, it affects women. Men and children are rarely affected by this skin condition.
The skin becomes red, scaly and itchy. However, acne-like pustules are found on the patches. Many times this is confused with rosacea. Patches appeared not only around the mouth, but can be found on the nose and chin. Sometimes, the area under the eyes are also affected. The skin becomes very sensitive and can cause burning and itching.
